How To Grow

Sow Dulce de España seeds 1/4 inch deep in moist seed-starting mix. Keep at 25–30°C for 10–21 days. Start indoors 8–10 weeks before transplanting. Transplant when seedlings have 5–7 true leaves and nights are above 15°C, spacing 18–24 inches. Dulce de España (‘Sweet of Spain’) is a classic elongated Spanish sweet red pepper with intensely sweet, thin flesh and virtually zero heat. Harvested green-to-red, it is traditionally used fresh, roasted, and preserved in olive oil. The dried version forms the base of Spanish paprika.
