Organic Chives Seeds – Mild Onion-Flavored Culinary Herb

Grow Organic Chives — a perennial bulb herb producing slender hollow leaves with a mild, fresh onion-garlic flavour. Snip and use on eggs, baked potatoes, soups, cream cheese, and garnishes. The purple pompom flowers are also edible. Plant once and harvest for years — chives multiply slowly into large productive clumps. One of the easiest and most reliable perennial herbs for Pakistani balcony and rooftop kitchen gardens.

How To Grow

Sow Chives seeds 1/4 inch deep in moist, fertile soil. Germination in 10—16 days at 15–22°C. Sow thickly in clumps — chives look and perform better in dense clusters of 10—15 plants. Harvest by snipping leaves to 2 inches from the base — they regrow continuously. Chives are a perennial bulb herb that dies back in extreme heat and re-sprouts from the base. The pretty purple flowers are edible too.
