Seeds quantity may vary — could be more or less than stated. Open carefully to avoid losing seeds. Store away from direct sunlight and moisture until ready to plant.
Harvest Tip
The grey skin doesn’t change colour much when ripe — judge ripeness by: (1) dried brown tendril nearest the fruit, (2) hollow thud when tapped, (3) creamy yellow ground spot. Do not rely on skin colour alone.

How To Grow

Sow Charleston Gray seeds 1 inch deep in warm fertile soil. Germination in 7—14 days at 25–30°C. Space 4–5 feet apart. Charleston Gray is a large, elongated watermelon of 9–14 kg with distinctive pale grey-green rind and sweet, deep-red flesh. An AAS winner from 1954 — disease-resistant (Anthracnose and Fusarium Wilt) and one of the longest-storing watermelons. The thick rind provides excellent transport and storage resilience.
