Create a lively butterfly-friendly flower garden with a colourful blend selected to provide nectar, pollen and a succession of blooms. Suitable for garden beds, borders, cottage-style landscapes and pollinator patches.
Flowers Included in the Mix
- Cosmos (Cosmos bipinnatus): Feathery foliage with daisy-like blooms in pink, white and burgundy.
- Tricolor Sunflower (Helianthus triflorus): Petite, multi-headed sunflowers that bloom prolifically.
- Perifolio (Perifolium spp.): Glossy foliage and clustered blooms that butterflies adore.
- Mahon Wildflower: Adds diversity and seasonal colour to the butterfly garden mix.
- Mexican Zinnia (Zinnia elegans): Bright, long-lasting blooms in red, orange, yellow and pink.
- Phacelia (Phacelia tanacetifolia): Lavender-blue flowers rich in nectar and highly attractive to pollinators.
How to Sow
- Choose a sunny location with loose, well-drained soil.
- Scatter seeds thinly over the prepared bed and rake them lightly into the top 0.5–1 cm of soil.
- Water gently and keep the surface moist until seedlings establish.
- Thin crowded seedlings to approximately 15–30 cm apart.
Growing Tips
Sow in the cool season across Pakistan's plains and in spring in cooler northern areas. Grow in full sun, water moderately and remove spent flowers to encourage repeat blooming.
