How To Grow

Sow China Pink seeds 1/8 inch deep in cool moist seed-starting mix. Keep at 15–20°C; germination in 7—14 days. Transplant 8–12 inches apart. China Pink (Dianthus chinensis) produces fringed, fragrant blooms in pinks, reds, whites, and bicolours with a spicy-sweet clove scent. Petals are edible with a mild sweet-spicy flavour. An excellent cut flower and edible garnish for cakes and salads. Blooms December–April in Pakistan’s plains.
