Coco Husk Chips - Natural Growing Medium

Natural coco husk chips that improve drainage, aeration and moisture balance in pots, grow bags and potting mixes. Their chunky structure creates air spaces around roots while holding useful moisture inside the chips, making them especially helpful for container gardening in Pakistan.

Pack Options

• 800 g loose coco husk chips
• 5 kg compressed coco husk chips block

Key Benefits

• Improves drainage and helps reduce waterlogging
• Creates air pockets for healthier root development
• Retains useful moisture without compacting like fine media
• Helps potting mixes stay loose and structured for longer
• Lightweight, reusable within growing mixes and plant-based
• Suitable for indoor and outdoor container gardening

How to Prepare

• 800 g pack: Rinse the chips with clean water and allow excess water to drain before use.
• 5 kg compressed block: Place the block in a large tub, add water gradually until it loosens, separate the chips by hand, then rinse and drain.

How to Use

For most pots and grow bags, mix approximately 10–30% coco husk chips with potting mix, garden soil and compost. Use a higher proportion where extra drainage and airflow are required. The chips can also be applied as a light surface mulch around established plants.

Suitable For

• Indoor and outdoor pots
• Grow bags and rooftop gardens
• Vegetable, herb and flower containers
• Houseplants that prefer an airy root zone
• Nursery and greenhouse potting mixes
• Improving heavy or compacted growing media

Product Details

• Material: Natural coconut husk chips
• Texture: Coarse, chunky and fibrous
• Available sizes: 800 g and 5 kg compressed block
• Growing conditions: Indoor, Outdoor, Greenhouse and Container Friendly
• Natural product: Chip size and colour may vary slightly

Important: Coco husk chips improve the physical structure of growing media but contain very little plant nutrition. Mix with compost or use a suitable fertilizer for sustained plant growth. Their coarse texture is not recommended as the only medium for fine seed germination.

For gardeners in Pakistan: Coco chips help container mixes drain during heavy watering and rainy weather while retaining useful moisture during hot conditions. Adjust the mixing ratio according to the plant, pot size and watering routine.
