How To Grow

Sow Hari Mirch seeds 1/4 inch deep in moist seed-starting mix. Keep at 25–30°C for 10–21 days until germination. Start indoors 8–10 weeks before transplanting. Transplant when seedlings have 5–7 true leaves and nights are above 15°C, spacing 12–18 inches apart. Green chili (Hari Mirch) is the most widely used cooking chili in Pakistan — compact bushy plants produce abundantly and continuously all summer. Harvest green pods regularly to keep plants producing. Pods ripen to red if left on the plant.
