Harvest Tip
Harvest Tinda when fruits are 6–8 cm in diameter, pale greenish-white, and yield slightly to gentle pressure. Overripe Tinda turns yellowish, seeds harden, and the flesh becomes watery and bland. Freshness is everything with this vegetable.

Heirloom Apple Gourd (Tinda) Seeds – Green Indian Gourd

Grow Heirloom Apple Gourd (Tinda) — an exclusively South Asian vegetable prized in Pakistani and Indian cooking for its small, round, pale green fruits with tender, mildly sweet flesh. Perfect for Tinda masala, stuffed Tinda, and curry. The delicate flavour is entirely lost in storage — homegrown and freshly picked Tinda is a completely different experience from anything available in markets. Open-pollinated, Non-GMO.

How To Grow

Sow Tinda seeds 1/2 inch deep directly in warm fertile soil or start indoors 3–4 weeks before transplanting. Germination in 7—14 days at 25–30°C. Tinda grows on bushy-to-vining plants that trail along the ground or climb a trellis. Space 18–24 inches apart. Apple Gourd produces small round pale greenish-white fruits the size of a tennis ball to a small apple — tender, delicate, and mildly sweet. An exclusively South Asian vegetable unavailable in any market outside the subcontinent.
