Self-Seeding & Harvest Tip

How To Grow

Direct sow Calendula seeds 1/4 inch deep in well-drained soil. Germination in 7–14 days at 10–18°C. Calendula is one of the easiest edible flowers to grow — direct sow in cool weather and it establishes quickly with minimal attention. Space 10–15 inches apart. Harvest blooms fully open for culinary and medicinal use. Remove spent flowers regularly to prolong the season. Successive sowing every 3–4 weeks extends the harvest. Calendula tolerates light frost.
