Green Peas ( Matar ) Seeds

Grow Green Peas (Matar) — an open-pollinated, non-GMO cool-season vegetable for productive kitchen gardens. Compact dwarf, upright plants produce attractive light-green 4–5 inch pods with around 9–10 sweet, wrinkled peas. The variety is tolerant to powdery mildew, can bear two pods per node, and matures in about 55–60 days from sowing.

How To Grow

Direct sow Green Peas (Matar) in loose, fertile and well-drained soil during cool weather. Sow 1–2 inches deep and keep the soil evenly moist, especially from flowering through pod filling, but avoid waterlogging. Provide light stakes, netting or a short trellis to keep plants upright. Avoid excessive nitrogen, which can encourage foliage instead of pods. Pick filled pods regularly to encourage continued production.
