How To Grow

Cold stratify Lavandula seeds in a damp tissue in the refrigerator for 2–4 weeks before sowing. Surface sow on well-drained, slightly alkaline seed-starting mix — light aids germination. Keep at 15–21°C; germination in 14–28 days (slow and uneven — be patient). Transplant when seedlings have 3–4 true leaves, spacing 18–24 inches apart. Lavandula angustifolia is the culinary and craft lavender prized for cooking, herbal teas, sachets, and essential oil. Best in Pakistan’s northern hills where summers are cooler and drier.
