Wild Strawberry Plant Seeds – Sweet Alpine Variety

Grow Wild Alpine Strawberry (Fragaria vesca) — the ancestral strawberry species with tiny, intensely aromatic, sweet-tart fruits considered by many to be the finest flavoured of all strawberries. A frost-hardy perennial that returns year after year. Produces no runners — plants are permanent and long-lived. Best in Pakistan’s high-altitude northern regions. Once established, requires very little care and fruits reliably each spring and summer.

How To Grow

Refrigerate seeds 3–4 weeks in a damp tissue before sowing. Surface sow on moist, fine potting mix — do not cover seeds, light is essential for germination. Keep at 12–20°C. Germination in 14–35 days — slower than cultivated varieties, be patient. Wild Alpine Strawberry (Fragaria vesca) is a long-lived perennial producing masses of tiny, intensely aromatic fruits continuously through the season. More cold-hardy than cultivated strawberries — survives Pakistan’s mountain winters without protection.
