Coriander ( Cilantro ) Seeds

In the plains (Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Faisalabad), most herbs like coriander, parsley, dill, chamomile and fenugreek grow best when sown from October to February. Basil, tulsi and lemongrass love warmth, so sow them from February to April. In the northern areas, sow from March to May. See what to sow this month in our October Sowing Seeds or check the full Planting Calendar.

Yes, herbs are among the easiest plants to grow in pots. Basil, mint, parsley, coriander, thyme and oregano thrive on a sunny balcony or bright windowsill with 4–6 hours of sunlight a day. Always use a pot with drainage holes, or try our Self-Watering Pots so your herbs never dry out. More options in Trays & Planters.

Coriander, basil, dill and fenugreek usually sprout in 5–10 days. Parsley, rosemary, lavender and sage are slower and can take 2–4 weeks. Keep the soil lightly moist until seedlings appear. For even, faster sprouting, start them in our Seedling Tray Starter Kit.

Herbs prefer light, well-draining soil. A good mix is equal parts garden soil, compost and cocopeat or sand. Avoid heavy clay soil, because waterlogged roots are the most common reason herbs fail. Skip the mixing and use a ready blend from our Potting & Soil Media range.

Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. That’s often daily for pots in summer and every 2–3 days in winter. Mint, basil and parsley like steady moisture, while rosemary, thyme, oregano and lavender prefer to dry out between waterings. A gentle-spout Watering Can keeps young seedlings from washing out.

Start with Coriander (Dhania), Mint (Pudina), Basil and Parsley. They germinate quickly, forgive small mistakes and are ready to harvest in 4–8 weeks. Want a bit of everything? Try a Herb Seeds Set.
