How To Grow

Sow Green Capsicum seeds 1/4 inch deep in moist seed-starting mix. Keep at 25–30°C for 10–21 days until germination — capsicums are slower than tomatoes and need warmth. Start indoors 8–10 weeks before transplanting. Transplant when seedlings have 5–7 true leaves and nights are reliably above 15°C, spacing 18–24 inches apart. Green Capsicum (Shimla Mirch) is harvested while still green and crisp for cooking. If left on the plant it will ripen to red — sweeter but more perishable.
