Deep Planting Blanching Tip
Plant leek transplants deep into dibber holes without backfilling — the hole fills gradually with watering, blanching the shank white and sweet. The longer the blanched portion, the more edible and tender stem you get.

Leek Seeds – Long, Thick Stalks with Mild Onion Flavor

Grow Leek — a cool-season bulb vegetable with long, thick, white shanks and a mild, sweet onion flavour. Essential for leek soup, potato and leek soup (vichyssoise), braised vegetables, and as a refined alternative to onions. Very frost-hardy — remains in the ground all winter in Pakistan’s cooler hill regions. A patient, rewarding long-season crop for the serious kitchen garden.

Transplant seedlings when pencil-thick, spacing 4–6 inches apart in rows 12 inches apart. Plant deep into holes to blanch the shank. Leeks have a mild, sweet onion flavour and are used in soups, stews, and as a braised vegetable. A long-season cool-weather crop best suited to Pakistan’s northern hills.
