Hot Chili Pepper Seeds - Serrano – Fiery & Flavorful

Grow Serrano Hot Chili Pepper — a step hotter than jalapeño (10,000–23,000 SHU) with a brighter, cleaner heat and thin walls that make it perfect fresh in salsas, chutneys, and raita. More intense flavour per gram than jalapeño — a little goes a long way. Prolific upright plants produce continuously all summer. Excellent companion to Green Chili for a kitchen garden that covers both fresh and cooking heat levels.

How To Grow

Sow Serrano seeds 1/4 inch deep in moist seed-starting mix. Keep at 25–30°C for 10–21 days. Start indoors 8–10 weeks before transplanting. Transplant when seedlings have 5–7 true leaves, spacing 15–18 inches apart. Serrano produces compact, thin-walled green chilis slightly smaller and hotter than jalapeño (10,000–23,000 SHU). Excellent used fresh in salsas and chutneys. Thin walls mean it dries and blends faster than thick-walled varieties. Prolific producer that sets fruit continuously all summer.
