How to Grow Sprouts at Home – Easy, Healthy & Fresh in Just 10 Days

Microgreens Planting Instructions

Take a flat, shallow tray or pot that’s at least 4–5 inches deep. Fill it with clean garden soil mixed with a bit of manure or vermicompost for added nutrition.

Evenly spread the beet sprout seeds across the surface and cover them lightly with a thin layer of Potting Mix. Keep the tray in a warm and moist place for 3–4 days to allow germination.

Once most seeds begin to sprout, move the tray to a bright area with good air circulation and some sunlight — a balcony, kitchen counter, or sunny window spot works great.

Growing Requirements

🪴 Soil

Use fresh, soft garden soil free of stones or debris. For best results, mix it with 30% vermicompost or organic manure. Pink beet sprouts also grow well in hydroponic setups if soil is not available.

☀️ Spot

Sprouts need around 4–5 hours of indirect sunlight daily. Place them near a bright window or balcony — not under harsh, direct afternoon sun.

💧 Watering

Keep the soil evenly moist, but don’t overwater. Use a spray bottle or a watering can to moisten from the sides so the delicate seeds aren’t disturbed.
Water once or twice daily — morning and evening are ideal — depending on the temperature and humidity.

How to Harvest

Sprouts are ready to harvest in 7–12 days, once they reach about 2–3 inches in height. You can harvest earlier if you prefer smaller, tender shoots.

Use a clean pair of scissors or a knife to cut the sprouts just above the soil line. Avoid watering a few hours before harvest — let the medium dry slightly.

Rinse the fresh sprouts gently with clean water and enjoy immediately in salads, sandwiches, smoothies, or garnishes for maximum nutrition and flavor.

Pro Tip:
