How To Grow

Sow Bhut Jolokia seeds 1/4 inch deep in moist seed-starting mix. Keep at 26–30°C for 14–28 days — Ghost Pepper is slow to germinate. Start indoors 10–12 weeks before transplanting. Transplant when seedlings have 5–7 true leaves, spacing 18–24 inches apart. Plants require a long, hot season — at least 150–180 days from seed to harvest. Full sun essential. Pods ripen from green to red over several weeks — harvest fully red for maximum heat and flavour.
