How To Grow

Sow Tres Cantos seeds 1/4 inch deep in moist seed-starting mix in a sheltered, warm spot. Keep at 20–28°C; germination in 6–12 days. Transplant when seedlings have 5–6 leaves and are about 15 cm tall, spacing plants 50 cm apart in rows 100 cm apart. Stake or cage at planting — this is an indeterminate vine that keeps growing all season. Water evenly and keep the soil fresh and loose. Feed with compost at planting and a high-potassium fertiliser once fruits set. Fruits are 180–200 g, slightly flat and ribbed with green shoulders.
