Seasonal Sowing Questions
Use the season bubbles at the top of this page to jump between Spring, Summer, Monsoon, Autumn and Winter, or pick a crop in the sowing calendar above to see if it's the right month. For a full month-by-month view, see our planting calendar.
Spring is the time for warm-season crops: tomato, chilli, okra, cucumber, bottle gourd, zinnia and sunflower. Start tomatoes and chillies in trays and sow the rest directly. Browse everything in Plant in Spring.
Yes — choose heat- and rain-tolerant crops. Gourds, okra, basil and portulaca do well in summer, and the monsoon (July–August) is ideal for a second sowing. See monsoon vegetables & herbs and monsoon flowers.
From September to November the plains cool down, so most winter vegetables and flowers are sown now for a harvest and bloom from December to March. Shop winter vegetable seeds and winter flower seeds.
Fast leafy crops like spinach, lettuce, coriander and radish, plus onion nursery and peas, can still be sown in the plains. Protect young seedlings from frost on cold nights and use seedling trays indoors. See Plant in Winter.
Yes. In KPK north, Gilgit-Baltistan and Murree the season starts later — most summer crops are sown in April–May and cool-season crops in August–September. The calendar above shows both the plains and the north for every crop. Questions? WhatsApp us.
